Don’t Miss “Green Radios”: A Look Into Military Radios this October 29th, 2015

Don’t miss out on this special presentation on Thursday, October 29th, 2015 at our regular meeting location. We promise not to disappoint with this great presentation by Walt, KB3SBC, on “Green Radios,” which dives into the world of military radios.

This presentation is billed as an old fashioned  show and tell.  The title of the program is “The use of military radios in the amateur radio hobby”.  We will go thru how we use the radios.  Field deployments, field day, pedestrian mobile, jota, sota and living history.  Type of equipment  we use.  We have it broken down by class; squad radios, hf portable, FAC, and aircraft.  Advantages of military radios.  Sources of gear, equipment pricing. But the best thing is the hands on part of the program.  These radios with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions are working!    I will also bring my Korean War military communication shelter which has been modified for portable ham radio use.  There will be radios spanning the Korean War to current issue.

Please don’t miss this meeting. It promises to be one of the best!
